Phu Quoc day tours

Do your tours really run every day?

Each tour is scheduled daily. A join-in departure needs at least two guests to run; if a date has fewer, we offer a private quote, another date, or a full refund. Boat days also depend on the sea.

What is the difference between join-in and private?

Join-in means you buy seats on a shared departure with a capped group. Private means the vehicle or boat is for your party only, on the same route, with more freedom over pickup time and pace.

Why is there no price on the tour pages?

Because it depends on the date, your pickup zone and the size of your party. Each page shows typical market ranges from published sources and what moves the price, and the quote comes in reply to the form.

Can I book for tomorrow?

Sometimes. Send the form as early as possible; same-day and next-day requests depend on when we see them and whether seats are left.

Tours

Which tour should I do if I only have one day?

Between November and April, the south islands speedboat day. Between May and October, check the forecast first; if the sea looks rough, take the north road day.

Are children welcome?

Yes on all four. We carry life jackets in children's sizes on our boats. Tell us ages in the form so we can confirm seats and, where possible, child seats in the vehicle.

Can we join from a hotel outside the four zones?

Yes, by arrangement, or by meeting the van at a hotel inside a zone. A private tour can collect from anywhere on the island.

South islands speedboat day

I cannot swim. Is this trip still worth it?

Yes, if you are happy on a boat. Non-swimmers float in a life vest near the ladder with a crew member watching, or stay on board. The lunch island and Hon Thom have shallow beaches.

What happens if the sea is too rough on my date?

If we cancel the evening before, or the captain or port authorities stop the boat at the pier, you choose another date, a road tour instead, or a full refund of what you paid us. The van brings you back to the hotel if the stop happens at the pier.

Can we go back by cable car without the park?

The published ticket bundles the return cable car with the Sun World park, so there is no cheaper cable-car-only option in the prices we have seen. If you only want the view, the boat back is included.

How early do we need to book?

Join-in seats can sometimes be confirmed for the next day, but from December to April book several days ahead. For a private boat, send the form as soon as you know your dates.

North island day by road

Is the pepper garden a shopping stop?

Pepper is sold there, but the stop has a fixed length and nobody is asked to buy. You walk the vines, see how pepper is grown, and move on.

Will we see starfish?

In the dry season, roughly December to April, usually yes. In rain or heavy cloud there may be few or none. Please do not lift them out of the water.

Can children do this tour?

Yes. The walking is short and the Ganh Dau beach shelves gently. If your child needs a child seat, tell us in the form and we will confirm whether the vehicle can fit one.

What if it rains all day?

The tour runs. The beach time shrinks and the other stops get longer. We cancel only for a storm warning or a flooded road, and then you choose a new date or a full refund.

Night squid fishing

Do we keep the squid we catch?

The catch is cooked and eaten on board, which is the point of the evening. There is no ice box for taking squid back to your hotel.

Is there swimming on this trip?

No. The boat goes out late in the day and fishes after dark. If you want to snorkel, take the south islands speedboat day.

Which night of the month should we pick?

Avoid full-moon nights if you can; operators advise against them, since the boat's lamps are what draw the squid. Ask us for the moon phase on your dates.

Can we combine this with the island day?

Not on the same day: the island boat is back at An Thoi around 17:00 to 17:30, which is when the squid boat leaves. Do them on different days.

South heritage half day

Morning or afternoon?

Morning if you want the pagoda quiet and the rest of the day free. Afternoon if you want the longer, safer swim at Bai Sao and can live without the early light.

Is the prison suitable for children?

It is a memorial to the prisoners held there, and parents should decide in advance. One adult can wait with a child near the entrance while the others go in.

Can we add the Hon Thom cable car or Sunset Town?

On a private tour, yes: we can drop you at Sunset Town after Bai Sao instead of taking you back to the hotel. On a join-in seat the drop-off is your hotel.

Do we need to pay entry fees?

The prison and the pagoda were free to enter at the time of writing. Donations at the pagoda are welcome and optional.

Prices

Why might your quote be higher than another one?

Compare the inclusions line by line. Our boat quotes include lunch, snorkel gear, the pickup run and a capped group on a registered open speedboat. A lower price often leaves out the cable car, upgrades lunch at extra cost, or adds a shopping stop. If the inclusions match and ours is still higher, tell us.

Do you charge in VND or USD?

The currency is stated on your written quote. Market prices on this site are in VND, as published by their sources.

Are children cheaper?

On join-in seats, yes; children are priced separately. Third-party tickets use their own height bands, for example under 1 m free at the Hon Thom park and Vinpearl Safari in the published prices.

Can I get a price without giving a date?

We can give an indication, but the firm price depends on the date, because boat demand and availability change by season.

How to book

Do I pay before the tour?

The written quote states when and how to pay. We send payment details only in reply to your own enquiry; if you receive a payment request any other way, do not pay it and reply to our email thread to check.

Can I book several tours at once?

Yes. List them in the form with your preferred order; we check that the days fit together and that a boat day has a spare day after it in the wet season.

What if I am late for the pickup?

The van waits five minutes past the time we send, then continues to the next hotel. If you miss it, contact us through the channel in your confirmation; on boat days the pier departure cannot wait.

Can I book on behalf of someone else?

Yes. Give their hotel and a way to reach them the evening before, since the pickup message goes to whoever will be in the lobby.

Areas

Which area suits a first visit?

For day tours, Duong Dong or central Bai Truong: every pickup window sits in the middle, and the town has the night market and restaurants within reach.

Is the east coast worth a visit?

Yes, especially from May to October, when its beaches are calm while the west coast is rough. Ham Ninh is also where fishing life is easiest to see.

Is Phu Quoc still part of Kien Giang?

No. Since 1 July 2025 it is a special zone of An Giang province.

An Thoi & south islands

Is An Thoi a good base?

For boat days, yes: it has the shortest ride to the pier. For restaurants and the town night market, Duong Dong is 40 to 50 minutes away.

Can I visit Hon Thom without a boat tour?

Yes, by cable car from Sunset Town, with the park ticket. Our island day includes Hon Thom by boat and offers the cable car as the return option.

Which night market is closer to An Thoi?

Vui Phet in Sunset Town, open 16:00 to 24:00. The Duong Dong night market is in town on the west coast.

Do island boats run in the rainy season?

On many days, yes, with earlier starts. In September and October cancellations are common, so keep a spare day.

Duong Dong

Is Duong Dong a good base for day tours?

Yes. Every tour's pickup window from Duong Dong falls in the middle, and the squid boat often leaves from this side.

When is the night market open?

Daily from 17:00 to 22:00, busiest from 19:00 to 21:00.

Can we swim in town?

In the dry season the west coast is calm. From May to October waves are bigger; swim only where flagged and when lifeguards are on duty.

Is Dinh Cau worth it if we see sunset on a tour?

It is a short walk from most town hotels. The squid boat gives you a sunset at sea; Dinh Cau gives you the town's version from the rock.

Ham Ninh & east coast

Can you pick us up in Ham Ninh?

Not as a regular zone. On a private tour, yes. On a join-in seat, by arrangement, or you meet the van at a hotel in Duong Dong.

Is the Ham Ninh jetty open?

The old wooden jetty is closed because of damage, according to the Vietnam Airlines travel guide. The village and its seafood restaurants are open.

When are the east-coast beaches calmest?

May to October, when the west coast is rough and Bai Sao and Bai Khem are calm. In the dry season they are still pleasant and less crowded than the west.

How do we get from the ferry to our hotel?

Taxi or Grab from Bai Vong, or the free VinBus route 20 if you hold a VinWonders, Safari or Grand World ticket. Our day tours do not include ferry or airport transfers.

Pickup zones and times

Why can't you give me an exact pickup time now?

Because the order of the run depends on which hotels are on the list for that date. The window holds; the exact minute arrives the evening before.

My hotel is on the border of two zones. Which applies?

The one we confirm in the quote. Give the hotel's full name and we place it.

Can we be dropped somewhere other than our hotel?

On a private tour, yes, within reason. On a join-in seat, drop-off is at hotels on the run; Sunset Town is offered for cable car guests on the south islands day.

When tours get cancelled

Who makes the final call on a boat day?

The authorities, if they have stopped departures; otherwise the captain at the pier. We make an earlier call the evening before if the forecast is clearly bad.

Do I get my money back if the boat does not sail?

Yes. If we, the captain or the authorities cancel, you choose another date, a road tour instead, or a full refund of what you paid us.

It is raining at my hotel. Is my boat trip off?

Not necessarily. Rain alone does not stop boats; wind and waves do. Wait for our message or the pier decision.

Can I cancel myself because the forecast looks bad?

You can, but if the tour runs, the terms in your quote apply. Ask us first: if we are already watching the forecast, we will say so.

About

Are your guides licensed?

Tour guides in Vietnam work under the 2017 Law on Tourism, which sets out guide card types and duties. Ask in the form if you want the details for your departure.

Do you run tours in languages other than English?

Join-in departures are guided in English. For another language, ask about a private tour and we will tell you whether we can arrange it.

Why only four tours?

Because running the same four routes every day is what keeps the pickup windows, clock times and group caps on this site accurate.
